The project “Arts & Crafts across Europe” is the first Gruntvig 2 adult learning partnership experience for our NGO “To My Town Akniste” and its Further Education Centre. 
The inhabitants of our rural town have traditions of handicrafts, but they have never shared their knowledge with others outside their families and school. We are happy that people responded to our invitation to join the crafts groups within the Gruntvig 2 project. The most experienced people agreed to be the teachers

 Five crafts were selected for Year 1:
1) Florists 
2) Knitting and dying wool
3) Straw decorations
4) Stuffed toys
5) Greeting cards
Encouraged by the present project, the teacher of the Straw decorations group, initiated arranging Crafts centre in our town. It will be a place where crafts enthusiasts meet, exchange knowledge, have their exhibitions.
